What Happened in 2021

Here is a little snippet of what we did for the park and the community it’s 2021!

Mill Clearance & litter picks

Throughout 2021 we completed several litter picks as well as some big clearance events with guidance from Cadw. Following this we removed foliage & tree that were encroaching on the mills remaining structure while being careful to ensure no damage was done to the structure that remains.

Planting Events

Over the course of 2021 we held several planting events. In these events we planted hundreds of trees along the bank of Hoel y Mynydd, planted spring bulbs around the park and near the remains of the wheel at Cecil Road as well as created a small garden area at the entrance on Hoel y Mynydd.

Summer Events.

During Summer 2021 we held events nearly every week! From Craft events, free play and then ending with out big community funday. The big funday was a massive success with residents young and old having lots of fun. We had the the 360 (llwchwr) Squadron RAF air Cadets, South Wales Police including PCSO Aly, a tractor and also Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue. And that’s just a few!

Halloween.

Unfortunately due to bad weather we had to cancel the planned events within the park. However we managed to throw a massive Halloween party at Loughor RFC with the Help of Roly Poly Entertainments. This included pumpkin carving, pebble painting, Mickey & Minnie, and lots of party games.
